QS stands for Qualität und Sicherheit für Lebensmittel vom Erzeuger bis zum Verbraucher (Food Quality and Safety from Producer to Consumer)
The QS system set up by the German food industry is similar to the Dutch ICC system.
For the meat sector the QS system requires quality control over the entire chain, from birth to slaughter and further processing. The rules apply both to products produced in Germany and to products and semi-finished products imported from abroad. As Van Leeuwen exports to Germany as well, we meet the QS certificate’s requirements.
